Founder Note
SIERRA is a local-first investigation workspace for live cases. It is meant to give you one working case where notes, evidence, people, relationships, and timeline stay together as the case evolves.

Local-first
Start on your machine and keep sensitive casework close
One case
Keep notes, evidence, entities, relationships, and timeline together
A case rarely breaks because you cannot find the first few facts. It breaks when screenshots, documents, names, organizations, and dates start piling up faster than you can keep the thread intact.
You end up flipping between files, tabs, and maps trying to remember what came from where, who is connected to whom, and why a detail mattered in the first place.
I'm Danny, the founder and solo developer behind SIERRA. I built it because I wanted a place where I could write down a lead, attach the supporting material, connect it to the right people or organizations, and keep the chronology visible in the same case.
The goal was a workspace you could grow naturally as the work deepened, instead of rebuilding the case later from scattered notes, folders, and memory.
SIERRA is most useful for investigators, OSINT researchers, and analysts working live cases with many intersecting people, places, organizations, and evidence items.
It helps most when one person, one screenshot, or one date keeps showing up in different parts of the case and you need the whole picture to stay legible.
The point is to make a case easier to hold in your head and easier to revisit.
Keep a note, screenshot, or document in the same case instead of spreading the work across separate tools.
Link the moving parts of a case so names stop floating around as disconnected fragments.
Track what happened when without losing the surrounding notes and evidence that explain it.
Reopen the workspace later and still understand why something mattered, where it came from, and how it connects.
Part of why I care about this space is personal. I have seen how much clear information and real community support can matter when people are under pressure.
I want to make the community around me a bit safer, and I want capable investigative tooling to be more accessible to people who cannot justify extremely expensive software. SIERRA is one concrete way I am trying to contribute.
If you are using SIERRA on real cases, I want to hear where the workflow still breaks and where you still fall back into old tools. That kind of feedback matters more than generic feature requests.
A lot of the product has been sharpened by honest feedback from investigators, analysts, and builders in the OSINT and security community.
Download SIERRA, try it on a real case, and see whether it helps you stay ahead of the work instead of falling back into disconnected notes. Cloud features can come later.
In silence, patterns emerge.
